They're using it to discover destinations, compare prices, build itineraries and make booking decisions. But destinations aren't keeping pace. Until now, that gap had never been measured. Conducted by MMGY Intelligence and commissioned by Mindtrip, Sabre and Sojern, this first-of-its-kind study surveyed more than 1,000 U.S. leisure travelers and 100+ destination marketing leaders to reveal how AI is reshaping travel and whether the industry is ready. **A snapshot of the findings:** → **54%** of travelers have used AI to plan a trip → Only **22%** of DMOs offer AI trip planning on their websites The biggest takeaway: **travelers are nearly two years ahead of the destinations** trying to reach them. The gap doesn’t have to keep growing. This report maps where it appears across the traveler journey and what industry leaders can do now to close it.
